Greetings from Texas,
This is probably an easy question but does anyone know what "V.G." stands for?

Thank you in advance! Hope everyone is enjoying their mandatory staycation!!

Shelley, these are called "perfins" and have been ID'd here before. If you do a search you find this: https://goscf.com/t/50685

V.G. stands for 'Victorian Government'.
The V.G. perfins were introduced by the government of the state of Victoria (in Australia) in 1933 after the Commonwealth Government ceased issuing official stamps.

Shelley, two weeks later I asked the very same question on this forum (see above). Had I done a search, I'd've read your thread and had my answer. Surprised I wasn't reprimanded for laziness.

Damn! I knew I shouldn't have included that last sentence. Now the Forum will probably send a couple of its hard, pipe-hittin' philatelists to collect.
