Hello all

Here is a 37/41 ALMONTE CDS wth an interesting scratch or ink issue that is visible with the naked eye. Can I get your opinion on this?

Position Dot at 3 o'clock (does this make it a #37?...)

There is also evidence of a slight slip print.

P 12.1 x 12.0, wove horizontal

Chris

I no expert but I would assume a scratch. Not a crack, too clean, or a ink wipe smear. It would have a wider spread, not just one line.

opinion..Scott 37
Not a doctor (ductor) blade flaw.
Could have been a hair stuck an removed when noticed.

Looks to be a scratch, and a nice one.

An incomplete list of similar flaws, worth a look, can be found online at

Hope the author picks up this great project again.

Thanks all - if it was a scratch, I imagine quite a few printings would show this. Will keep looking.

As for 37, I agree the colour seems right. But does a a position dot denote a 37, as well?

The guide dots at 3 O'clock or 9 O'clock are late printing. Early printings usually have the guide dot at lower left corner.
