Re-check the perforation rate at the side. It is not 11. Thus not a 596.

Just out of curiosity what makes you think that you have a strip of three of one of the rarest stamps in US philately?

Agreed. Horizontal may be ok. Check your vertical rate carefully. Try matching it up with 10.5 and others.

As suggested multiple times by others, try to eliminate the most common stamps first.

Nano, A 1939 use is almost 100% certainty 11x10.5 Scott 632. The other perforations varieties were many years out of production.

Instead of using a perforation gauge, try using a soaked-off Prexie stamp, which will be 11x10.5 and you will find a perfect match with your strip.
