Hello, I have a sheet with the stamp Mi # 7Aa waz (1945, Soviet occupation, Berlin-Brandenburg) I found in Michel two flaws: III (field 35) and V (field 34) which appear mentioned on several printing plates To identify the plate I need the help of collectors who have the catalog of Thomas Schantl or Ralf Krenz. I marked on the sheet the fields where I found other flaws (field 14, 33, 34, 35, 40, 41, 43, 52, 54, 59, 77, 92 and 98)- I don't think they are all but I hope they will be enough to identify the plate Thank you George

For a collector of flaws of 1945-1948 Germany Soviet Occupation it is cheaper to buy the whole sheet, where he has the possibility to find many constant flaws. For the 30 pfennig sheet I gave 2 Euro, much less if I had bought the flaw stamps separately (about 30 Euro-selling price) Being printed on several types of plates, there are chances to buy some that have valuable flaws (as is the case of the 20 pf sheet that I bought with 2 E and I found flaws quoted at 200 E - which I will present after photographing the stamps) Not all constant flaws are presented in Michel's catalog and that is why I need the help of RALF KRENZ or THOMAS SCHANTL flaw catalog holders for identify ALL constant flaws. |

Hi The sheet of 20 pfg (Mi # 6) I managed to identify as being printed with the B I plate. I found flaws in fields 30, 52, 84 and 99 (flaws also recorded in Michel: II, IV, VII and XII) I have identified on the sheet other constant flaws (field 4, 39, 57, 60 and 72) that are only recorded in specialized flaw catalogs (Thomas Schantl and Ralf Krenz) I hope, that a collector who owns these catalogs will confirm these flaws and in addition indicate fields with other flaws that I have not yet been able to identify. I ask this question on this site because I don't know German (and Google translate doesn't help me much) hoping that a German stamp collector will answer me (which I start to doubt that "stampcommunity" members have very advanced knowledge about German stamps without high value) Thank you George |

I seriously doubt that a condescending attitude will get you very far in life. |

I'm sorry, I didn't mean to offend anyone. Being a collector of German stamps, it is normal to look for German sites, but I have previously explained my difficulties with the German language. I learned from "stampcommunity" a lot of information about US, Great Britain, Australia, New Zealand stamps (mainly from "stampsmarter") managing to identify some of the stamps from these countries alone or with the help of members. Returning to the German stamps I mentioned the two catalogs of flaws (T.Schantl and R.Krenz) which are used by collectors specialized in this field. Having no reaction from the members, I concluded that they do not have these catalogs and hence my logical conclusion, which, has nothing to do with my condescension. I hope I managed to make myself understood (translated with Google) that I did not want to offend anyone but I just found that in my field of interest I do not find members with additional information.

Thanks cupram. Beyond Michel, I do not have resources for these stamps because I don't have enough of them to make it worthwhile for me to pursue them.
As I am sure you know, finding these specialized catalogs is not easy. Even if you are persistent, luck plays a large part in obtaining them. |

Thank you lithograving and bookbndrbob. I read on "Stampcommunity" for hours and hours the old discussions and that's how I found out about "stampboards" and these 2 catalogs. I hoped that someone would have them and be able to help me with the series of flaws for the Berlin-Brandenburg stamps. I will continue to post flaws from the other stamps in the series. You can also find them on your stamps. There are constant flaws (found on sales sites) and maybe some collectors are interested. |

Hi Peter, Thank you for the site. I found a whole series of flaws catalogs for German stamps. I don't think I will buy now and I still hope that a member will help me. George |

@cupram,
I think you are really better of with one of the spezialised catalogues. Please don't take this as an offense but I am not sure anyone with such a catalogue will take the time to go through all the questions you are having, even if I find many individuals in this and other forums to be very helpful |

You are right. The only thing that can solve my questions is the purchase of the 2 specialized catalogs (T.Schantl and R.Krenz) I gave up from the first post to wait for answers from this site. Having sheets for this series I was able to identify constant flaws (or not) and my intention is to provide this information to collectors who, like me do not have access to these catalogs. The number of views of this thread gives me confidence that my posts are interesting, but the lack of written reactions makes me doubt. I'll stop with the posts. Thank you for the warning. |

@cupram
Sorry, by no means did I imply you should stop the posting here ! It is certainly still interesting to see what flaws are occuring on these stamps. Being from Germany, I can relate to these surely. So please keep posting !
I was just saying you may not get answers on your questions easily, since it would mean someone having the catalogues to follow-up on all of these and post answers here. |
