Reverse Printing Labels - Any Tips?

I was experimenting with reverse printing for some labels on Vatio pages and wondering about any tips including to reduce the amount of printer toner (obviously a laser printer).

The background in this test was about 90% black.

My current thinking is to use 8 pocket pages and put labels on alternate rows.

If using a B&W printer go to the printer dialog box, select preferences, advanced and turn "econo mode" on. That might save a little. Sorry not much in the way to other ideas at the moment. Maybe increase the font size?

If using a color laser printer, have you tried printing yellow letters on a transparency slide and cutting them out? I use transparency slides for all kinds of things. Alternately, yellow letters on black paper?

Unfortunately white toner is extremely expensive, availability is very limited and hard to find. I've done that research for model decal making. NO-GO.

I use a Brother D400 Label for most 1-3 line labels as shown above for the postal card catalog number (and avoid the reverse toner cost). For labels on On Vario pages, you have to experiment with the various 3rd party label manufacturers if you care about being able to cleanly remove the labels. I notice that some of the cheaper 3rd party labels are more likely to leave adhesive residue. This comes off with a bit or work but buying a better quality label will save you time if you frequently remove/move labels.

I also use the same transparently labels in a number of other applications including binders as shown here in transparent gold color.
