Could someone please post a link to a high resolution image of an E11 image so I can copy it and overlay that image on my image to express the differences - exposing the double transfer you all can't seem to find?

I just bought an Epson V600 scanner and have a 10373 x 6446, 300 x 300 dpi scan of my E11. The image on my end is ready to go for comparison and overlay.

Please post a link to the high resolution E11 mint stamp here in this forum and I'll get to work on my end.

Thanks!

Those look good rogdcam. I tried overlaying them, it's just not high resolution enough. Oh and the file size cap here is 200 KB. GIF animation is 953 KB.

Perhaps purchase an off-centered unused E11 for about $5-6 on ebay and make the scan of the printed area to your own specifications.

I would think that you could just post your high resolution scan and circle or point to the area of interest. A scan of the entire stamp, followed by scans of smaller areas would be most helpful. What should happen is that the replies will include further scans of stamps either confirming or contradicting your thoughts. I've done this many times, and I sometimes get confirmation, but it is usually pointed out that what I thought was abnormal was actually quite common.

I bet someone already has one and could scan it.

This is the GIF animation of the two stamps - doesn't help my side much - although it does show how much larger my stamps letters are.

Specifically - "SPECIAL" and "DELIVERY"

This stamp was in use for 5 years. It was printed on 36 different plates. The paper used at the time was not going to be identical every shipment given both the available quality control and the wartime paper used for at least the first two years. The paper was fairly soft and not exactly the same every time and this would produce minor variations in shrinkage, density of ink, shade, quality of perfs, and overall quality of appearance.

Good Morning All,

I need another example of a U.S. "ink spread" stamp please.

Please post an EXAMPLE IMAGE.

The stamp would have a "high concentration of solvent".

NOT the same as an INK SMEAR.

"United States, Scott E11, used, inking variation caused by a high concentration of solvent allowing ink to penetrate paper (ink spread). Genuine." - APS

I have a digital microscope now and will likely be posting images from that which shows greater detail.

Thank you

partime your stamps is dry printed in that area.......paper not wet enough to hold ink properly. revcollectors comments are also valid points for the variety's seen in color and impression on this issue.
