@NSK
Ok, thanks. Then I am still confused as to why catalogues are not giving a different issue date fot eh corrected stamp, since as you say it must have taken some time to produce the corrected stamp version, I assume at least 4 weeks. Thus the corrected stamp should not have been released earlier than the first week of January 1963. Again, why is such a date not written in the catalogues (or is it since my Michel is from 1996) |

Maybe someone has the OCB - COB catalogue of Belgium. If any catalogue has the correct issue dates, it should be that one.
Or you should try to contact the blog site or the author Cees Janssen and ask if he knows how the dates coincide. |

This sentence
"Maar het bijzondere postkantoor in de Koninklijke Musea van Schone Kunsten had op 8 december 1962 al 800 vellen van ieder 30 zegels van de 40 centimes met de letters ML verkocht en bij het bekend worden van het foutieve monogram bij verzamelaars werd de jacht op deze zeldzaamheid geopend."
can be read in two ways 1. It sold these 800 sheets before 8 December; i.e. in pre-release 2. It sold these 800 sheets on 8 December before the next thing happened
Dat was echter maar van korte duur want het Bestuur der Belgische Posterijen besloot om dan maar beide zegels in de verkoop te brengen waardoor de oorspronkelijke serie van vijf stuks met een zegel werd uitgebreid.
The Post Office decided to issue both stamps.

If your first interpretation is the correct one, then the story I was assuming could be true. So they intended to release originally earlier than 8th December but due to the error stamp and their sale in one post office (accidentally) they postponed the whole release and meantime printed the corrected stamp. Then on 8th December they released all of them |

I am quite sure there was no delay.
The date goes inside with tuberculosis week issues of other years. That would indicate there was no delay in the issue itself. |

It looks like TBC week stamps were issued on the first Saturday of December from 1957 until 1965. Exceptions: - 1960: first Monday - 1962: second Saturday |

Ok, so OCB does not indicate any different date. Thus it is highly likely that they have indeed been issued same day. Since only the monogramm had to be changed maybe it was not a big deal for the printing process and the Belgian Post could react very quickly |
