Availlable now from Post Canada, a limited run of the 2019 Queen Elizabeth II booklet without the security feature underprint on the reverse under the adhesive of the stamp. On this reprint, the C is not underline, the design remain the same. Eventualy this booklet should have a different scott number from it original issue for differenciation. Ref: 2020 Detail magasine vol 3 page 7. When was the last time a Canadians stamp had a second print ?

Thanks Pollux for pointing this out.
I received the April Details awhile back and skimmed
through it but didn't see that notice.

Looks like starting with the May 2020 issue there will only
be a digital version available.

Yes, thanks for posting. I did not even receive my April catalogue in mail, so I had no idea I was so far behind. Have had my head down and keeping busy buried under my stamp collection. Trying to arrange and par things down as I have too much duplication.

As announced, the last two Detail magazines # 3 and # 4 are only available in digital version and probably the following ones as well until further notice. April stamps (Eid and V-E Day) were not available in the post offices of my locality, I had to place an order via Post-Canada website to get them. I did not take a chance and also order those for May (Group of Seven and History of Radio). For those interested, Legends of Ballets and Medical Groundbreakers will be rescheduled. The Vintage Travelers Posters is shiffted to 2021. The next stamps will be in September .... Not a big year...

Why was this 2019 stamp even reprinted?

Was it because no new QEII stamp was issued this January ?

How many is a "limited run " ?

Am I being more cynical than I usually am when I assume that this is just another way to get collectors to pay for more stamps they will never use.

Anthraquinone, I agree with you 100%.

Canada Post issues enough stamps whether definitives, commems,
special occasions, xmas etc. etc.
No need to re-issue anything unless they want to get some
more cash out of collectors.

One thing CP could issue is a set for Covid-19
I would actually buy and use those.

I can understand your desire for a Covid 19 stamp and I am sure that would be popular but putting on my cynical hat again that probably is not what C.P. want. If people used the stamps C.P. would have to provide a costly service for them.

They like to be able to sell stamps at face value for services that will never be used. Printing lots or pretty pieces of paper with numbers on them that represent real money and being able to get that money for services that will never be used is like having your own gold mine.

Many smaller nations figured this out years ago and it has taken the more "reputable" stamp issuing countries a while to catch up. It is why I stopped collecting new issues many years ago. I now concentrate on postal history and hardly ever buy a stamp as such.

But enough said as I do not want to get on my hobby horse about this.

Canada Post will miss the 100th of Pierre Burton's birth, having lost the 100th of the CNR last year.
