When it comes to properly obliterating a stamp, some of these modern postal administrations could take lessons from the Indian State of Jhalawar. I had to call in the heavy guns to work out where the stamp under this cancel came from:

(It's Jhalawar SG 2)

And just to prove it wasn't a fluke, they did it again ... and again

Ballina wouldn't be that common.

There's a thoroughbred track there KG5
I would suspect reasonable postal traffic.
Share your opinion on the nice strike,
"office server" that's a new one for me.

I did not know about the race track Rod! It has been 35 years since I have been to Ballina. The small seaside peaceful fishing village is what I remember. Yes it is probably near to being a city now. But a nice postmark.

KGV, that "Strawberry Hills" cancel is very similar to what Canada Post uses on handstamped mail, as per this Langley Cross(ing) cancel. I miss they days of the circular datestamps.

Strawberry Hills !
I live close to Strawberry Hill Street! Neat.

Here's one like Bee See's Canada POCON (Post Office Computer Office Number) cancel. The stamps used to send the parcel and one on the back of the receipt of the parcel sending.

Appreciating the beautiful Scottish Lass in the link,
I would send her an email with a pic,and see if they would like to purchase it for their archives,
You may have a wee cruise there :)

I think I'll have to start a thread on this entire. I've had it for years, and never got around to transcribing it. The correspondence relates to a property dispute concerning a Lord, no less. A bit more research to do!
