Another novice question please - on the 10 cent Washington, Sc13, are all 100R1 positions double transfer? I've been trying to find example of one ( double transfer), but striking out. Thank you.

I found this one, https://www.worthpoint.com/worthope...j-4635829265

Same position as mine, but not sure of how to determine double transfer??

Here's mine:

Hi Fritz --

Your 42R1L cover is really nice and a piece of philatelic history. To me, it is an EOB trifecta --

1. It is in the "dull EOB" color which is much scarcer than the typical EOB.

2. It has a Jan 1 New Year's Day cds.

3. It has Dr. Chase notes both front and back

Very nice -- and thanks for showing it.

Regards // ioagoa

Looks to me like a Chase notation? Which again to me, is worth more than a cert.

Nice!!

Edit: posting same time as ioagoa. Sorry

Some of my 1851-52 colors. These colors were all confirmed by Dr. Amonette for me.

Stamps4life, it's not fully clear if you are saying that your stamp is position 100R1, but in any event it is not. The shifted transfer on this position (probably a more accurate term in this case than double transfer) is evident in a very heavy dark portion of the frameline below the C of Cents (see attached photo from Siegel website), which your stamp does not have. The Neinken 10-Cent book also shows this in the drawing for 100R1.
