Trying to do some cleanup on the collection and am starting my fake / forgery page. Am I correct that the key on this stamp to identify it as a fake is the lack of a diamond in the letter "D" in paid?
Based on what I can see you are correct. This aligns very closely with the Powell/Kimbrough Book which does a great job of identifying these fakes. I have been able to clean up / identify several of my own with the help of their book.
