Plate 61 appears a good candidate for your MI stamp on the previous page. Plate 94's registration sheet misses the complete A-row. So, it is difficult to say. The alternative site gives little information on how it establishes the 'missing' imprimaturs. |

Yes, that is the alternative site. It is nice people claim those to be the stamps from those sheets, but how did they determine that? They, likely, are right. But I cannot confirm it. |

Heres another I originally thought was in the 140 to 170 range - BUT - then I was told I had the wrong alphabet!! . So now I go with plate 101. Thoughts? |

Quote: I have a few more plate numbers of a 1841/58 Penny Red imperforated/Perf Stamps I'm currently wanting to selling on Declampe and Hipstamp (see images). Could someone help me please and give me some help in identifying the plate numbers Nice to see a few examples - this thread went dead for a bit. I'm happy to try and help, but currently away from my books for a few more days. The cut into ones may be tough for a beginner like me and I haven't delved into perfs - but I'm happy to take a look when I get back if not too late for you. |

Thanks NSK, I know about the reg sheets, it's a bit of a task going through all the sheets, I was hoping someone give a quick answer I have also tried the E-Gauge noted on the site, but it takes a lot to understand how it works!!! |

Quote: it's a bit of a task going through all the sheets It sure is, but sometimes you just have to put in the work. There's no real shortcuts for these, other than knowing the dies and a thorough knowledge of the postmarks. |

So I've taken a look, and am most likely 0 for 3 - but - im just a beginner and these are tough for me. Missing margins and all. TE was odd in that it seems out of proportion - I could not measure because of the missing sides so I tried overlay. I got the top 1/2 matched , but then the bottom 1/2 was off and vice versa. Maybe plate 150. AB I measured 12+ 3- 2 5-, plate 94 and FI plate 102. MAYBE! good luck. |

The plate 150 for the 'TE' looks a very good match. Not only do the check letter appear fine, but the very strong right frame line extending below the northeast star's box and 'feathering' of the ink from the top left of 'TF' (so in the northeast of your stamp) appear a good match.
AB is one of the missing imprimaturs from plate 90. So, I cannot confirm that.
The top bar of your 'F' in FI slopes down. That for plate 102 is quite straight. Also, many of the frame lines of the boxes are quite strong on the registration sheet and quite weak on your stamp. Another very strong clue that your stamp is not from plate 102 is the left frame line just below the barred cancel. You can see a short, strong straight vertical frame line. The registration sheet shows a complete lack of a straight left frame line there. |
