Having another look based on comments made elsewhere, plate 11 looks good Stamps4Life.

As I've said previously, you have to start backing your own judgement That said, none of us gets it right 100% of the time.

I thought 11 also based on what I mentioned earlier. I'm curious to what repair NSK refers to SW corner? Asking only bc I don't know what to look for / how to tell? Currently traveling so I have nothing to reference unfortunately. I'd like more thoughts from others.

I did notice that and thought that this one would be a cinch. But I didn't see a dead on match. I also noticed the break in the WNW and the shape of same star….

This is a repaired plate. You can see the doubling of the 'E'.

Any idea what that left letter is. It looks like an incorrect letter has been corrected. That must be easy to identify.

The left letter looks like a B.

The right looks like an E that was an F.

Yes?

The central horizontal line of the B is almost always perpendicular to the vertical line. It is nowhere near perpendicular. This makes me doubt it is a B. I am tempted to believe the righthand letter is a re-entered E. This could have occurred during a plate repair. That lefthand one looks like there are a K, O, and S (I doubt there can be these three). I have no idea what letter it is, but there are at least two different letters.

Edit: Looking at the righthand letter again, it might be an 'F' over an 'E'. That would make it either a repair or an initial incorrect lettering that was corrected.

Thank you again. I did not notice the odd ' B ' at all. But I now see it as a more circular interior section. Time to reboot this one. I'll investigate further.

A lot can be possible. If you look at the left side of the central stroke that slopes downward from left to right, you will see an upward sloping stroke below the downward sloping stroke where it meets with the vertical stroke.

It looks like someone had a set of letter punches and tried all.

The lower opening of the B looks a little too circular. Does look like a B over S maybe.

So I wonder if there is a correlation between SF & BE ? Maybe the BE used to be SF?
