Stanley Gibbons British Empire & Commonwealth will be the catalogue you need.

As far as I'm aware, Brusden White do not cover the early colonial period, of which Queensland and Tasmania chalons are a part.

I had no idea the Qld large chalons were still being issued that late!

I have a swag of the small chalons but the large ones have never appealed to me.

Not sure how well covered Brusden White is with the Chalons, Bobby.
Not my area, Australian stamps can be an expensive hobby.
I have a few, but my Queensland collection is not yet organised.

As mentioned by Bobby De La Rue, Stanley Gibbons Part 1 (Commonwealth and Empire Stamps 1840-1970) or the Stanley Gibbons Australia catalogue are the best catalogues in the world for all of the full face chalons of Tasmania and Queensland. New Zealand is in Part 1 but not in the smaller Australia catalogue.

Brusden White 2004 (Kangaroos and the Federal period referred to in above post) does not cover New Zealand, nor the chalons of Tasmania or the early chalons of Queensland. It only has listing for the large chalon heads (2/6, 5/-, 10/-, £1), included because some were issued around 1907 on the crown over double lined A watermark paper. The 1890's issues of those stamps are also included with the 2/6, 5/-, 10/-, £1 QLD listings.

I hope I'm not being out of line but on stampboards.com they selling a NZ catalogue right now!

Typically, you can distinguish watermarks. But occasionally they are a bit obscure. Would either watermark fluid or lighter fluid work to bring the Wmk forward?
Or would that damage these particular stamps?
