I would say Scott#11, Michel#10. Sorry. I was wrong! (after seeing Vayolene post!)

This is called "Instruktionsmarke" (instruction stamp) which was used on the front of stamp sheet folders (Bogentasche) to show what kind of stamps are inside. So no postal stamp, but a nice philatelic finding.

Here is the picture of such a Bogentasche - unfortunately not the 6 Kreuzer - and the link to the page where they write about it (in German).

I would call it a cut out ,it is the same as cutting out pictures from a old stamp album or cutting pictures out of a major stamp auction catalog.

I disagree ... no one would pay a cent for a simple cut out from an old catalog page.
These "instructions stamps" are mentioned in the Michel catalog and are wanted auction items.

You said "it was the front of a stamp sheet folder " The printer made a picture ,so you can see what was inside . OK

Thank you very much. Very few people would know of such thing.

To make the matter even more interesting, it seems there were forgeries of these instruktionsmarke.

I found this discussion mentioning forgeries.

I'll keep my eyes open. Maybe some day I will be able to find an entire card.

Thank you again.

Danko; The stampX-Forum post you indicated;with the forged 6 kreuzer blue next to the 6 Kreuzer whitish paper .
The original booklet was whitish paper with the 6 kreuzer on the cover.

That the impression I got. My only problem is to why go to such a great length in making such a good forgery, and in the end use the wrong paper?

Anyhow, this is going into "oddities" collection. Forgery or not, still makes for an interesting piece. It has its own story.
