Scott shows the 30c design A16 as perf 13-1/2 issued 1942 (SC76), perf 14 issued 1941 (SC76a) and perf 13 issued 1938 (SC76b).

I have one that I have repeatedly measured with two different gauges and by counting at 13-1/2x14 perf.

Has anyone else seen this perf, and have a catalog (Michel, Y&T, etc.) number? Perhaps it's just these old eyes.

I appreciate any and all thoughts.

Thanks,
Donald

Could you describe the stamp, rather than giving a Scott number, please?

Gauge différences of 0.25 are difficult.Scott is ok for most British stamps;but for fine tuning only SG. SG catalog numbers here:

Are you using an Instanta gauge from Stanley Gibbons? If so, that could explain the discrepancy. If a stamp gauges 13.75, Scott will round down to 13.5, whereas Stanley Gibbons will round up to 14, and its Instanta gauge will indicate as much. At least that's what I've found so far.

Rounding? My OCD does not permit me to round.

Thanks for the information about Scott and S&G rounding practices. Using this info, I went back and looked several times, and concluded this stamp is the 13-1/2 x 14 perf 1942 issue.

This stamp is the 30c KGVI and Jinja Bridge at Ripon Falls issue, deep blue and black in color, a common inexpensive stamp but this became a teachable moment.

perf12: Thank you for the link.

Donald
