SC #479 (Ii Or III) Sheet

Unitrade doesn't mention sheets. I was curious about sheet position of the red over blue variety of stamp. I figured that there was a particular position that would carry a consistent plate variety.
So, I've purchased several full sheets looking for that one red over blue stamp.

Well, today in the mail I received my latest purchase. Another sheet of 479's, but this sheet is completely red over blue. Every stamp.

So, if the 479ii and/or 479iii can be found as a complete sheet why doesn't Unitrade mention that?



Chances are that the scan quality for the entire sheet won't allow for close-up's. So, I can provide scans of any stamp in the sheet. Just ask.

Is your pane HB or dull paper?

It's not shiny, sort of a satin shine. And it has dull adhesive if that means anything.

You should post a closeup scan of one of the stamps, so we can see the "red over blue". I would imagine that the printing technique to make this variety would affect the entire sheet of stamps, not just one particular position. Looking forward to your next post.

Yes, it is red over blue. And all 50 on a sheet should be the same when printed. As for the paper type blackjag asked about, it has nothing to do with surface looks. Did you put a longwave uv light to the stamps to see if they are dull or if they glow brightly?

Geez! Last time I had a black light was back in the 60's/70's!
I didn't, I'll have to find a long wave uv light and report.

So, I subjected the sheet to a 380 nm UV Light. No appreciable glow, so not Hibrite I assume. The paper had a mottled look to it and I could see the grain of the paper. I have three other sheets of 479 and they all appear the same.

Now I need to find a Hibrite example, just for comparison.
