Hello.

This morning I am working on ID'ing some Bermuda stamps. I have a pair of one penny stamps with crown over CA watermark that I believe fall under Scott 19. The problem I am having is in determining color since Scott lists four possibilities.

Here is a scan of the two.

Any pointers or tips on dealing with this sort of thing will be greatly appreciated. I have not hit this particular "problem" so far in my work on identifying the stamps in my collection, but it is relatively early in that process.

Thanks in advance,
Dale

Floortrader,

Thank you. These were part of a small lot of classic Commonwealth I picked up on ebay a few weeks ago that has been filling a number of holes.

Stamp on the right has more yellow in its color. Red is yellower than Rose or Carmine.

It has been a fun lot to go through. Sometimes what seems like a small "taster" purchase can hold plenty of surprises. Here is the highlight, Scott 94 and 95:

I still have several countries to go through from this lot, as well as a Canadian grouping from the same seller that holds some small queens and a bluenose.
