Since I was a child I have wanted to have a stamp from Tibet. I could not afford one then but can now. The problem is that these stamps have been heavily faked. How can I make sure the stamp I get is genuine?
Try finding a stamp from Tibet on a cover mailed from there. Probably more expensive that a stamp by itself; but should solve the authenticity issue. Steve Taylor comes to mind as a dealer who might help with your quest and there are probably others.
Please leave it on the cover and display the whole thing in tact. Challenge quest: Document its travels through the postal system from Tibet to its destination. There are others on this board with info to share to help you on your way.
Enjoy your quest - it sees a lot easier than climbing over to there to pick up one in person but the scenery would be great on that trek.
