6 Cent Columbian Color Question - Just A Fade?

I haven't come across such a dramatic color difference on this stamp before. Is this just a fade / changling or might it be an under inked stamp or...?

It is faded, probably from too much exposure to light. The 6-cent Columbian was highly susceptible to fading.

Thanks. That was my initial assumption. But saw one like this sell as "chalky blue" on ebay for too much money - lol. Into the sweepings box it goes.
