I have been working on a British Commonwealth collection ( inherited many years ago) and am almost finished moving the stamps from hinges into sleeves. Started building an inventory in Excel, but see issues with being able to properly id stamps using my set of 2008 Scott Catalogs.

For British Commonwealth you may find that the Stanley Gibbons "Commonwealth and Empire" catalogue offers a significant advantage over Scott. It does, however, only go as far as 1970.
The Vancouver Public Library carries a few editions of this cat, so it is probable that you will find it in the Calgary library as well if it is open (the VPL opened yesterday). Clive

Second clivel's recommendation of Stanley Gibbons' "Commonwealth & Empire." I found a nice, affordable, hardbound copy on ebay, not new but recent enough. Much happier with it than with Scott.
