Searching For Information About This Stamp

Can anyone help me with this stamp. I am fascinated with it yet I can't figure out what's underneath all of black ink. Any thoughts or ideas are much appreciated.

This is a WWII German occupation of Netherlands stamp. The unoverprinted design was from the pre-war "seagull" definitive series. The German occupiers had the 3c seagull stamps reprinted, and then overprinted with various values.

I cannot "read" or be sure of the thoughts of the occupying nazis, but the intention seems to be humiliation and discouragement of the occupied Dutch citizens.

This series is also known as the guilloche series. Refering to the overprint.

Dutch collectors also know it under the "Tralie zegels" name. Which loosly translated means "behind bars" series.

Most, if not all issues during the WW2 era were not having an effect on the Dutch. They just helped resistance and defiance.

The 1943/44 Dutch naval heroes series is a good example. The Dutch are proud of these men and it only made the Dutch more determined.
