2 Cent Red George Washington

I acknowledge I am a complete novice as such the stamp is probably common. This is part of my collection from when I was a little kid (Im 51 and returning to collecting) Based on my research there are many varieties of this specific stamp (most pretty common). Im sure mine is common. Is there anyone who can narrow it down for me based on the picture. I looked at it through a magnifying glass and I think it a Type 1 based on the button and the hair by the ear. Im confused at how I tell if it a 456 or 406. I do not have a perforation gauge. I realize I have a ton to learn. Thanks for your input. Also looking for tips on buying a perforation gauge and a guide for beginners. Thank you in advance. Start your ID process with the perforations. If you do not have a perf gauge you can downloads and use one of the printable ones here
