I can't seem to be able to locate this stamp anywhere.. To me it looks like and would be in with the 1894 series. But this series starts with the J29 1 cent. The only 1/2 cent postage due stamp I find is the 1925 J69, but that's not it. Am I missing something?

well, don't I feel like an idiot.. yup, I went to the Catalog and there it was, plain as day, J68, laughing at me. I completely overlooked it. Not sure how I missed it, but thank you Rhett. What I have in enthusiasm, I lack in attention to detail I guess.
Don't feel bad. It's what I call "catalog blindness" and it happens to all of us. Even the seasoned collector. You look and look for a stamp and suddenly it appears on a page you've been over a number of times before.

Easy to miss in a catalog because usually a set listing begins with its smallest value. But in this case, the need for a 1/2 cent postage due came near the end of the set's useful life.
