Is This Really A 369 On Bluish Paper?

Hi all-

I just purchased the stamps shown here in an auction. Lots of other stamps but I'm intrigued by this one. I have a 369 in my album for comparison but who knows if that is true -- not certs. My eyes have never been great at discriminating color but the stamp on the left is a 367 and the one on the right was identified as 369.

Your advice is welcome. I'm thinking of selling this on ebay and I want to be reasonably sure of the ID before putting it up for sale.

the blue paper issues and 369's I have seen all have a strong watermark visible without fluid.that said a color determination via computer is not a reliable method for id of these issues.

The bluish paper shows good when using an orange background. I do not believe either of your two stamps is on bluish paper

Thank you. That is pretty obvious on the orange background. The difference I see in my stamps is far too subtle.

I find 369 to be one of the toughest (for my eyes) to detect. I see the difference but I don't see the 'blue' everyone claims is there (at all). Must be my eyes. Even worse than the 70/78's which at least actually all look different, even if I can't tell which is which :-)

Blue is a misnomer, it is actually a gray color.

Two different scans of same item from RH White Encyclopedia. To me, the perfs on the 369 bluish are very suspect.

Bluish meaning Greyish.

I'm not going to sell it. I'll put it in an envelope with a note, in a stock book for the next generation to puzzle over :)
