Haven't found where to look to identify postal stationery. Here, however, is a cut square that I have, along with a photo of an entire piece (not mine) with what appears to be the same image. Can anyone tell me whether it belongs to the Crown Colony period or that of the Empire?

This type of envelope was introduced in 1883.

The cancellation on your example is dated 1892.

Hope this helps.

Indeed, yes. Just what I needed. I'll house this cut square with my stamps of the Empire. Thanks!

Thanks for that second link, Joy. Very nice and quite helpful with both date and color.

Yes, very nice. Don't read a word of Czech, of course, but the site allows each image to be enlarged for all the detail to be seen easily. Helped greatly to identify what I've got. Thanks, 22crows.
