Need Some Help On 1914 5c Washington & 1918-22 $2 Documentary Stamps

Hello, I am new to the stamp community and would appreciate some feedback on these stamps. Found these in my recently inherited stamp collection. I did some research online but didn't see the stamps with the flat top edge and solid line.

These lines are guidelines. These stamps were printed in large sheets - these sheets were cut into smaller panes along these lines
If you own a Scott catalog this is explained in the introduction along with other basic info
