Hello,
Sorry if I carry on sometimes
I've been excited with all the new learning
China is difficult with minimal knowledge and catalogues
So I randomly started looking The some of the collection
and came across something
Really interesting #129488; could be nothing but I like to dig deeper
Look at the details closely
So I have a what I thought was a beat up old
Scott's a21
But looking closer there's two images
It kinda looks like king George
On the reverse?
I'm trying to get a good image but it's
Difficult but definitely there!

Your first instinct was right, I can't see anything, but, if there is another image on the back, it's likely to be caused by the stamp having been placed in an illustrated place in an album.

Hi Fella,

It looks like your stamp may have some residual gum on the back.

Over the past 100 years the stamp may have been stored on top of a George stamp (with some pressure and a bit of humidity) and the gum may have pulled some of the ink from the George stamp.

You could try soaking the stamp to clean it up and remove the gum.
If the image is still there, you still have a mystery.

Just_fella,
Let's pause and take a breath.
To get much meaningful feedback from us, we really need a high quality scan of both the front and the back of the entire stamp. Not a photo.

Hard to double check your work with the image quality. If I were forced to give an opinion, I think the residual gum has picked up ink from being lightly stuck to something and it would soak off if your stamp were given a soaking - thus not any production error, but evidence of poor handling much afterwards.

Probably just stamp album offset stuck to back. I mean it would be really top Nostradumus for the Canadian Bank Note Company to print a picture of George V on the back of an 1870's Canada issue. No extra value, sorry.
