Canada Scott 14 – Perforation Oddities

Going through a few early stamps I came across one Scott 14 "Queen Victoria" stamp.

I agree the perforations below are commonly know..
1 – 11.75 x 11.75
2 – 12 x 11.75
3 – 12 x 12

Here is one when measured seems to contain a different set of perforations..
TOP........11.6
BOTTOM.....11.9
RIGHT......12
LEFT.......12

Not sure why the discrepancy, but info from other collector measurements appreciated.

Yes they are..Like the Scott 169 associated with perf. 11...2 different size stamps.

Good info jogil..did not even realize SCOTT # 169 ROTARY PRESS PRINTING was 11.25 x 11

That would explain why I got to different size stamps.

Too bad Scott and Unitrade have not used this information in their Canada stamp catalogues since this information would help collectors in a big way. To study Canada line perforated stamp perforations, one has to also study U.S. line perforated stamp perforations since the perforating equipment used on line perforated Canada stamps was made in the U.S.A.

Detailed perforations would be a blessing...Garfield has written a Small Queen chart for Unitrade and I know he is a SQ expert and the chart is great info for collectors...Wish you could write and input your perforation expertise for Unitrade also...Say, would you be up to the task if asked..??

Did you get my Canada and U.S. perforation file documents?

Sure did...Impressive...A non expert like myself with reguards to perforations had trouble understanding 100% of what I was reading...Great work jogil...I hope you continue working on this important part of stamp collecting.

I post now and then on perforation accuracy and have not seen to much support for an important side of stamp collecting...One day...{smiling}.
