In an attempt to organize my house better, I have taken all my stamp binders and put them on a 3 shelf IKEA BILLY bookcase in my dining room.
I thought it would be nice if I could buy glass doors for the BILLY to make it look a little nicer.
But I think I am running into a metric vs imperial measurements issue.
IKEA, as a Swedish company, makes all of their furniture to metric specifications. When I stick a US binder in there, it sits just fine, but it sticks out about 1/4".
I'm going to bet money that if I had an A4 binder, then it would sit flush with the shelf.
Though I am not opposed to the idea of going A4, it would be a huge PITA for someone in the US to deal with 4 hole punches, getting A4 size paper, and finding A4 binders that have nice ball and socket rings.
I wonder if anyone makes a binder that is just a little bit shorter than that standard binder form front to back.
I ran in to the same problem. Even had an IKEA bookcase as it turns out. I don't know about a binder that is a bit shorter but the problem even exists with reference material so I returned the doors I had bought and just tried to make sure things were as organized as possible so that it always looked neat. As an example I found some file boxes at Michaels Crafts that work perfect for covers. I bought a bunch and now everything on my stamp sjelves are either in binders or nice neat boxes. That was a solution that worked for me. Good luck.
