Would like to see how Kelleher is going to break this inventory down .
They listed the South American already ,are they going to have a Middle East auction seperately then a Europe section ,then finally all the bulk lots in a seperate auction . Too many small auctions would just keep some buyers waiting for the next one .
I am hoping for one major auction with a lot of very large auction lots . |

Kelleher just posted another "Collections" auction for Sept 20. IMO very very thin. The WW Collections section is awful. Where are the big auctions? |

Perhaps Kelleher is selling direct to their largest purchaser(s) given the strong market? |

It depends how they got the Leo Malz inventory ,was it a consignment or a outright purchase . If it was a purchase then they could farm it out to a few others .
For example let say it was a 3.5 million dollar purchase. They could sell off 1/2 million to Rasdale and another 1/2 million to Dutch Auction . One firm taking the bulk and the other small collections with each getting a few hundred indivual items . I don't think Kelleher wants that much bulk plugging up their office .
But then again they could make $10,000 to $20,000 pallet lots .Interesting to see what is going to happen . I know one thing ,they are not wanting to be holding huge inventories going into the election in November . |

They are not wanting to be holding huge inventories regardless of the election. The days of holding huge inventories are long over except for a few long time dealers that have had them building for decades. No one wants dead stock laying around, it costs money to hold it. |

Specialising in Trucial States and Yemen? A little depressing knowing that your giant lot is going to contain huge quantities of Dunes material ... |

Referring to the Trucial States stamps as "Dunes" is rather insensitive and perhaps derogatory in this day and age. Surely we are better than that. The Southern Arabian States, a group of which are now the UAE, are so much more than piles of sand. As a reminder the name "Trucial States" is derived from the territories whose principal sheikhs had signed protective treaties (also known as truces, hence 'trucial') with the British government from 1820 until 1892. They remained an informal British protectorate until the treaties were revoked on 1 December 1971. |

South Arabia is usually considered to constitute what was Aden and the states of the Hadhramaut and Yemen. And a great deal of the philatelic material of South Arabia, which is what I was referring to, is dross that never went near the peninsula. Glad to see that you're growing sensitive, though. |
