This looks like a great forum. I should have joined it earlier. I collected as a kid and then 50 years off. Now I am retired and back into it and loving it like when I was young. I collect pre-1940 worldwide and use the Scotts albums Part 1 and 2 and Stanley Gibbons Imperial albums for Stamp that wont fit in the Scotts or duplicates.
What is the best forum to post a question about a stamp that I can't identify or a possible fake. I have now a strange Persian stamp from the 1886 official series that was surcharged by over print. I expect is it is a fake, as I am told that is the case of so many Persian stamps, but the odd thing is that if it is a fake they overprinted the stamp with the wrong surcharge. Isn't that like forging a $30 bill. I am hoping that someone can explain that to me.

Don't hesitate to ask questions especially if you need basic information and especially more advanced sources of information for any possible topic. Experienced stamps need a home too. I'd rather have an example that is imperfect than no example.
