Can anyone tell me anything about these fiscals, such as the period of use, etc.? Thanks in advance.

Hi Tony

I do not have a concrete answer for you. These stamps are not listed in the C.O.B. (Catalogue Officialle Belgique) either.

I have heard that these stamps were used as a form of 'receipt' on invoices and possibly even used on cheques (checks) but I cannot confirm this.

Sorry I can't offer more.

They bear a passing resemblance to the French stamps that performed those functions, so it is plausible. As for era, the dates would imply late twenties, early thirties, which matches their appearance. How long they were in use before, or after, I have no idea...

Just biding time until someone comes along who knows what these are.....

I have a few of these. I was told many years ago they were telegraph reciept stamps. However, I do not know weather that is correct or not.
