In the March 2019 American Philatelist, APS Sales Director Wendy Masorti advised that their "mount supplier went out of business and that once supplies were exhausted we would no longer sell stamp mounts."

Then, in the September 2019 American Philatelist Ms. Masorti had this to say about an alternative product, "Our search led us to ClearBags.com, an industry leader in all types of packaging solutions...they offer a line of 'flap seal crystal clear bags' which are 1.6 mil thick made from acid free, archival safe BOPP (polypropylene), come with an adhesive strip on the flaps , and feature optimal clarity and durability."

After being a little overwhelmed by the number of choices on the ClearBags website, I decided on four sizes and phoned in an order for the bags/mounts several months ago. The order arrived within a week. For my order of 5 packs of 100 bags, shipping was $8.80. This was not unreasonable considering that the weight was more than I would have guessed.

The ClearBags mounts are slightly heavier/thicker than the Washington Press mounts formerly sold by APS. I use Scotch Magic Tape to insure that the mounts are "pinned down" to the sales pages. IMO these mounts are a good choice for affixing items for internet sales and circuit book pages.

And, I have no connection with the Clearbags business.

I have been using these for 10 years, albeit, the Australian equivalent, has no sticky flap.

Only negative, I find, is they are extremely slippery, a shoebox of protected covers, is like handling a bucket of eels.
