I am recently retuned to stamp collecting after a 50 year hiatus. This stamp is listed in an album in an ebay auction I was following as India Scott #1, but something seems way off. From what I've read, the red half anna was was not placed in use, so it shouldn't be cancelled. The stamp itself seems off as well and looks more like the red one anna (Scott #7). Is this a forgery or am I missing something?

Welcome back to the hobby.
Scan is too small to assess.

Compare Her Majesty's visage, to this one...

Not that I would know, but I do not recall seeing, a barred numeral Pmk inside a ring, before.
