Hi John, I'm sorry if I offended anyone but I did say I was posting this item next week on ebay in this actual thread and my ebay listings are linked to this site. The last thing I want is not getting all the buyers interested! It wasn't an auction either. Just buy it now.

I will stand corrected on auction vs buy-it-now, but the sale venue was still the same.

I would expand my thoughts then ... why would anyone list a scarce collectible of unpredictable ceiling value as buy-it-now? Seems far more logical to list it as an auction format for a week with a seemingly moderate to high start-bid and let the market see it and have a chance to react, THEN if unsold, to relist it at a buy-it-now price the next time around. Haste may leave money on the table, but every seller has their own sales philosophy - including me!

Yes that was my strategy years ago. But many times it just seemed not to work and cost me money. So I have been on ebay for many years and auction cost more to list and I am stuck selling at whatever price it ends up at. Starting at a high bid cost much more that .99 cent or buy it now. also I don't have a large following so many times the auction comes and goes with very little bidding. I also sell to make money and when I know I can come out a head I sell. This item I thought would bring $19 and I would have been happy with that. When Tom said he would buy at $50 I thought list it more so I can come down to that price. Never really thought it would sell so quickly at a higher price. I have also been told many a times an item has a certain value and list it and watch it sell for much less. I guess I am frustrated with auctions.
