I inherited multiple relative's collections totaling close to 100K stamps, including covers, precancel, perfin, international, revenue, and cinderella's. Most have been stored in an attic for over 50 years. Learned a lot in the last couple years, but still a novice in many areas. Decided to validate perfs on each stamp and came across the following. Not sure if it is a mistake, or a reperf. Comments welcome.

pbmorris, Collecting for the enjoyment of collecting, whatever that might be, is the name of the game. Don't hesitate to ask questions especially if you need basic information and especially more advanced sources of information for any possible topic. You should be able to find folks on this board a little further along on their collecting journey glad to share experiences. Russ PS: Any particular types of covers in your hoard? |

Peter, no real concentration spans First Day of Issue, Naval Ships, Special Events, First Flights, and some other military and International, along with just a collection of letter envelopes with interesting postmarks or stamps. |

One of the offset-printed stamps, thus Scott 526-528B. The perf-12 left side is "perfs added" likely along a natural straight edge. Too bad. |

Welcome, pbmorris; hope to see more of your collection and hope you catch the bug. (The one that makes you interested in stamps; not the one we see on the news every evening of course!) |

Andy, I already have the bug. When I first got the collection, I didn't get out of my PJs for 2 days. I still spend a couple hours a day just trying to figure out what is in the collection. This has been going on for several years. My Ggrandmother was just into collecting, so I have Cut Squares, Envelopes, Precanceled, Perfins, US, International, Covers, Revenues and I try to focus time to understand the basics of each area. |

That's great! Hopefully you have a Scott catalog if your collection is primarily US. |
