The listing has ended, usually I can bring up the original listing, look at the bids. Not on this one, Perhaps it was just withdrawn?

Ehh? When I click through I see the completed listing. It was fixed price, not an auction so there were no "bids". As shown in the screenshot "Sold for: $35.00" meaning it was not withdrawn. It sold. |

I see, thanks. Vendor has a few dodgy negatives and neutrals. "Item not as described" etc.
Strange, after looking at his history, I can no longer see his store.

and part of the design drawn in. It is amazing that anybody would consider paying good money for this piece of junk. |

At first glance, I didn't even notice that. I must not be suspicious enough. But someone has actually gone and added a new top and bottom . . . and then hand drawn in the missing parts of the stamp. I don't know if I should laugh or admire the great effort that took. Selling it wtihout even mentioning the alterations is pretty close to criminal. |

This is hardly a rare event, unfortunately. It happens on classic postage, too. Seeing it does not come simply from being suspicious, but from learning how to examine stamps properly. I saw it immediately, and I am sure Eric did as well. |

Very strange, that's Rick Snow, an extremely well respected man in the coin collecting realm. He's the world expert on flying eagle and Indian cents. |

Perhaps he has a side area where he deals with stamps, he may have another person as "identifier" etc. But not replying to revcollector's "heads up" adds another mystery. |

As is so often the case with collectibles, dealers do best when they stay in their lane. When they start dabbling in areas where they are not experts, problems frequently ensue. |
