Hi all, hope you can help. I've just bought a copy of the above and am trying to match the SG numbers in my album to those in the catalogue, but some don't match. For example, u211A (Machin 12p 2B Blue) is listed as SG Y1676b in the catalogue, but this now seems to be SG Y1677.

Have there been some subsequent updates to catalogue numbers since this edition was published?

Hope someone can help :)!!!

Cheers mate! Still a bit puzzled. The 19p Bistre is listed in the catalogue as U263C (=SG.Y1677), as you said. However, looking to buy this stamp and it is listed online now as SG.Y1682. So, have I got an old catalogue and has a newer version be published with these revised catalogue numbers??
Thanks

Sorry Todd, beyond me. (Gibbons do alter numbers occasionally my Cat is 2012)
If I were you, I'd be questioning the vendor.
Confirm exactly what you want, and ask if that stamp complies.

The syncopated bistre appears a very common stamp? 75p?

I do not have a Stanley Gibbons Catalogue for Machins that new. Even their specialised catalogue is very basic. However, both Deegam and Connoisseur list only one 12p Dark turquoise stamp with elliptical perforations (issued 1-8-2006). So, if it is a 12p turquoise and not green stamp, or if it is a 12p stamp with elliptical perforations, it can only be one stamp

The X- and Y-numbers are provisional as new stamps are still being issued and it is likely the listing must be re-arranged frequently. Even Deegam, sometimes, changes a number.

The 19p olive green (Royal Mail colour, but the only one of this value with elliptical perforations) has five photogravure/gravure stamps. One is a Questa stamp; the others are Harrison/De La Rue (same company that, later, also acquired Questa). The most common one is catalogued by Connoisseur at 45p; others are around the price rod222 mentions.

You may want to try this web site, it seems pretty updated with all the Machin issues https://adminware.ca/machin.htm
