Hi all,

Sorry if this is a newbie question, but I'm not a Germany specialist at all so not sure what to make of this. Closest thing I could find in Scott Catalog is a booklet pane, but this doesn't appear to be that format. Is this some sort of error? Or a variety that I overlooked.

Thanks.

Not an error. Germany has issued many stamps with different designs and colours on the same sheet. Even coils that alternate between two stamps. It's one of the interesting things they've done going back to 1900 or so.

Booklet pane with 3 tete-beche pairs? A Michel catalog should have these in it.

I think it is not a booklet pane - these stamps were printed this way in sheets

This is the booklet pane.

The sheet from which booklet pane is obtained by cutting consists of 10x10 stamps placed in the configuration:

In the Michel catalog are listed pairs or series of three horizontal or vertical stamps

These stamps were available in a booklet (MiNr. MH41) containing two panes (MiNr. H-Bl. 103 and 104).

The panes had ten stamps (MiNr. H-Bl. 103) and nine stamps and a label (MiNr. H-Bl. 104). These particular stamps were available in H-Bl. 104.

However, the panes were printed in sheets of 100 (10x10) stamps. These booklet sheets, or Markenheftchenbogen (MHB), were also available for purchase by collectors. As a result, it's common to find interesting combinations such as the one you have.

Yours is from MiNr. MHB 56.

EMaxim- I am in the early stages of learning about German philately.
About the booklet / sheet booklet I learned from PostmasterGS (see topic "Germany: Cancellation Premium-pag.5)
Michel's catalog from which I posted, is a gift from PostmasterGS.
I also try to follow his example and help with the information I have, but the language difficulties prevent me from being too clear, sometimes.
And from me as well-Thank you PostmasterGS.
