Having auctioned off my good U. S. stuff, I have a few country collections that I would like to dispose of. Some decent material but mostly middle of the road stuff from a few countries that are not particularly popular nowadays - Greece, Monaco, UN, etc. Any suggestions on the most efficient way to sell them off and get a decent price - ebay, certain auction houses, dealers, etc. The albums may be worth something - hingeless albums from Palo. Any suggestions would be appreciated. Thanks.

Check ebay, auction houses etc. to see if they have sold anything similar to the material you have, and prices realized.

Ok, well I guess no one has had any real time experience selling country collections to provide some suggestions as to where to go. So the heck with it. Thanks anyway. Moderator - you can delete this thread.

ebay auction(s) should work well if you have good photos and interesting stuff. Make sure lot will fit in a "flat rate box" either medium (2 sizes) or large (P.O. has dimensions and weight limits). Make sure the auction starts/ends between 10am-10pm and maybe run for 10 days. Don't use a reserve (expensive). Those both have very low prices for a known amount and don't ship out of country.

I send items such as middle of the road collections to Michael E. Aldrich auctions.

edit: Yes, these days they will all be lumped into one multi-carton lot.

Oracle - I brought cartons of middle-of-the-road country collections to an auction house that I had done business with, and I had also researched various ways of disposing of the collections, as you are asking about. The house that I went with had auctioned similar things in the past as individual country collections. I lotted them up myself, with descriptions, values, etc, (I used to be a lot describer for a few auction houses, so I know what I am doing). Imagine my shock and dismay when I received my consignor's list and they were all lumped into one multi-carton lot. I have been buying and selling for decades and have a very good understanding of values. So...

If you want to get rid of the stuff, consign it with your choice of auction houses. If you want more control (if you consign it, THEY have control over how it is lotted, described, etc) go with ebay, or something like that. If you consign, and get unpleasantly surprised by some aspect of the process, you are probably SOL. Needless to say, going the ebay route will involve a lot more time/effort on your part. If you go the ebay route, pictures always help, and close-ups of the more valuable stamps won't hurt.
