Is This A #444 Paste Up Coil?

Got this in a lot from a local auction. When checking for the single line wmk I found the plate number is visible in the paste up. plate 6985. So, thoughts? Genuine? Value enhanced by the plate number? I haven't seen a paste up coil before.

I recently purchased something similar but without the plate number. I think it is a 99.9% verification that it is an authentic coil without having to send it in for expertization. Of course are some that would say even these too could be forged but I'm guessing unlikely, especially if you have that plate number.

There are some good websites describing how these origan flat plate coils were made ... I'm amazed at the labor these must have required

I can't imagine why anyone would bother faking this. It's a nice variety with a modest cat value, but it hardly seems worth the trouble to fake.

Keep in mind, these can be faked from genuine imperforate coils (409H in this case) by adding perforations. Imperforate coils also have genuine paste-ups.

Assuming this is genuine what's a guess on it's value?
BTW I was very excited to find this. I bought the lot for what looked like a very nice mint 15 cent Clay 259/274 that turned out to be a flawed 259 and some others from the 1894/5 bureau series I hadn't really paid attention to this one. This was an estate auction with an auctioneer who knew little about stamps or couldn't be bothered.

Looks like # 6985 which is known an Scott's #444 and not one of the scarce numbers. My opinion of value, between 5 and 10 US $.
