One on right appears to be #16T90 (1936 Apple Green) under Telegraph Stamps in 2021 Scott Specialized page 853. Value 25c.
I have never seen the Protective stamp on left. Don't see a category for it in Scott's. |

Thank you Bald Eagle, getting used to the Scott Specialised (2004 edition Page 563)
The other has no country or State, so will put in the US Cinderella Folder.

The stamp on the left is a private label used by members of the National Wholesale Liquor Dealers Association to show that they were contributing to the association and its lobbying efforts - I think they were trying to oppose prohibition. The labels exist with different year dates. I think Ron Lesher wrote an article a few years back on the labels, maybe in American Stamp Dealer & Collector magazine. |

Thank you SPQR and PbMorris. I had done some research, missed the Eric Jackson listing. Stamp on old invoice (dead ebay listing) From a book. |

I believe my most recent article on the National Wholesale Liquor Dealers Association is in the January 2021 American Stamp Dealer & Collector. I should note that my copy of the January 2021 has not yet been delivered by the U.S. Postal Service. But it is not yet the end of January. My fourth quarter 2020 State Revenue News (mailed in November I believe) just arrived today (January 28, 2021)!! |

Thank you James, all I can say is "Wow!"
I prefer Eric's your term Miscellany, which I shall adopt, rather than cinderella.
I am leaning towards the origin of the item, as to some situation between European distillers and the US, going by the "German propaganda" shown on my book reference.
PS: I have eyed off your catalogue for some time, no doubt it is worth it, but price and the number of items I would use it for, has me reserved. A major hinderance between countries, we rarely see US revenue material here. And as one can see here on SCF, you guys sell between yourself, due to "ship charges and covid"

rod222 - Australia has similar labels used by liquor dealers to fight against the Prohibition forces. Many years ago I traded one of my wholesale liquor dealer documents with Dingle Smith for one of the Australian examples. I think the term trade association stamps is a bit more descriptive than Miscellaney. |

I bow to your greater knowledge RMD I cannot recall any such Australian stamps in my experience. I can see "Trade Association Stamps" could be useful, but broadly used in the discipline? I don't recall it seen anywhere. |
