Hello everyone,
after reading a lot of stuff here in the forums, I finally decided to register and be a part.
Its good to know that a lot of my questions will get answered here.

Im 31 and started collecting with my dad when I was 11. Firstly all of german stamps, then all over the world.
With 15 I lost all interest in stamps, but luckily I decided to start my own stamp business and started collecting GB stamps from all over the world. Now, 6 years later, my collection is bigger than expected and Im very into it. But still with a big catalogue there are a phew stamps to discuss.

Happy collecting to you all!
Thomas

RWSD,

Collecting for the enjoyment of collecting, whatever that might be, is the name of the game. Don't hesitate to ask questions especially if you need basic information and especially more advanced sources of information for any possible topic. You should be able to find folks on this board a little further along on their collecting journey glad to share experiences. Russ

Welcome Thomas! We all look forward to your contributions. When you mentioned GB from around the world, did you mean British Commonwealth?

On a different subject, there have been many discussions here regarding young collectors like yourself. There seems to be growing interest in stamp collecting among younger people, however we all would like to learn more about trends among young collectors.

Would love to hear your thoughts about how young people are finding philately, and how they go about collecting.

Thanks for the replies.

Im collecting GB and the whole Empire and Commonwealth from 1840 to 1970, like my SG.
My first goal was getting one stamp from every Colony, Protectorate, Occupation and so on.
Nearly completed, some Indian States and Mafia Island are remaining.
Then I moved forward and organized them well, to get the gaps filled step by step. Sure I canīt complete all, but I really like the huge variety in there.
Now I have a collection I enjoy to work with and its time to specialize.
My point of interest are stamps from Bahamas.

@shermae
And about other young collectors, I have no clue. I never met a younger collector than me... But Im sure they exist!

Regards
