Hello, I have been working to better organize my many German stamps - so many rabbit holes :) These Saar stamps. I am having a hard time figuring out where in my Scott Catalogue to look for them. Thank you for any guidance. Nora.

That is what I thought might be the case. I do not have Volume 5. I only have volume 2,3 and 4. Thank you for your response. |

The last two rows with the Franc and Cent overprint is Mi.226-232 (226-238 set), 1947.
Last row the three stamps on the right is Mi.243 and 244 (239-251 set), 1948.
The rest is not in my Michel jr 2000.

The first two stamps in the next-to-last row are Germany proper -- issued to mark the return of the Saar to German control |

Sr. Roberto. Muchisimas Gracias. Increible! Rod - I considered Artful hinger but thought Saar may not be included, now I know :) |

Nora - I have no interest in German stamps, but collect Saar as part of the French area. Maury's catalogue expends fifteen pages on the first three series (the top two rows of your scan) because of shades and, particularly, multiple overprint variations. Fun for some, but not me! |

Before I had taken a break from stamping when the pandemic changed a lot for me, I had quite a bit of stamps from an off paper lot I bought - I love the mix I get from this one particular dealer very inexpensive (unsorted box of world mix/surprise) 1100 stamps for $17. Now that I am back into the groove I am going through trying to better organize and protect those stamps and I have discovered that Germany is complex (probably not a main pursuit for me). My main goal is to get my German stamps in Vario sheets in a decent order and catalogued as best possible. I will say that I have learned a lot just trying to figure out what is a German state, colony, Occupation, office abroad, overprint - my other consideration (still not sure), as I build my main passions (MX, GB, France) is to possibly sell some of my German duplicates in order to fund my other stamp purchases. I took a test run on ebay and sold some of my German duplicates in less than a day. It is work that is for sure, but if it allows me to grow my focus albums, why not :) plus I learn through the process. Nora. |

If Artful hinger was good enough for you, you could have tried StampWorld too. |

Hi. Yes I used to frequent stampworld prior to me getting some new catalogues. I do prefer my catalogues - but realize I need to supplement due to me not having a full set. |
