Manchukuo Stamp Scott #84 (Design A16) With Overprint, But What Scott# Is It?

Hi,

I bought this stamp as part of a lot, but am having trouble figuring out what Scott# it is.

I don't yet have the stamp, so I apologize if the picture isn't good enough.

It looks to be Manchukuo #84, except for the overprint. I think the overprint probably makes it one of the People's Republic of China, Port Arthur and Dairen stamps (having a 2L Scott #). I am unsure which one, as the Chinese characters in parentheses at the bottom of the overprint don't seem to match up with the ones I saw, unless I missed it.

Does anyone have any ideas?

I should have known that's what it was, considering the note in Scott about local overprints.

I looked at the website and it mentions that it "very common." Is this in general, or just in relation to the other overprints?
Just curious, as it doesn't seem very common in comparison to other Worldwide stamps, as it's probably the first one I've found in normal day-to-day material (although you could probably find them pretty easily if you specifically looked for them online).

I have the "Bible" of Manchukuo by Helen K Zirkle,
but she does not cover the stamps or overprints after 1943.

In my experience, it is as you suggest, I rarely see overprinted examples, I have perhaps 6 or 7 tops.
I do see the overprint query popping up here often.

Going by the author of the link, this is a very dedicated discipline. (An excellent treatise)
