Hi all, I purchased this mint, hinged C5 but it came completely encased. I kind of want to display it on page but how best to open these? Never received one like that before. Any risks in doing that? I assume some buyers would prefer it to remain where it is but I'm not planning on selling anytime soon. Thx

Can't you just cut it open with scissors, or is the material thicker?

Is the problem that it has been laminated? If so did the seller tell you this?

Looks like someone ran out of black mounts so grabbed a free sample of a clear mount and used that. The premier clear mount was prone to shrinkage and that shrinkage was very detrimental to the value. So, open the mount, remove the stamp and remount it. Many of the early air mail stamps are worth more "never hinged, original gum". Most collectors and dealers will prefer to examine the stamp, not the mount.

Here it is. Looks better on a black background. Scissors did the trick, no issues. Thx

Oh, wow. I thought encased postage should be left encased.
