I thought this could be a learning lesson
Haven't see too much detail about the subject, I came into this current curiosity due to a cut up 75c (they don't appear to be straight cuts or mentioned anywhere I read) the sides are torn
So I'm wondering would someone do that for storage or try to get a mark up
Just thought I didn't know enough so thought I'd ask
Thanks

Not a coil stamp. Probably clumsily cut from an envelope.

Agreed the 75 cent was not issued as a coil as far as I can tell
But what about the other coil stamps not much is mentioned as far as details(that I can find)

Catalogues will list the various types of individual definitives. These are numerous, particularly for the Sower series.

Was there a way to determine them apart, coil from other issues?
or perhaps someone could point me in the right direction to a library that would lend me some cataloge/books for my own personal use?
I have too many questions!
Like on the type 1 -75c was there different printing methods
Typo/lithograph or anything like that?

It's my understanding that the first official automatic stamp dispensing machine issued the 5c perf all sides
But what about the trial period France and Germany had developed great prototypes prior to the official UK used Design? The private manufacturers (or do I realize it's bad to google this stuff :)

Just fella, I don't about the French stamps, but the early Germany coils are collected as vertical strips of 11 to prove they are coils; the sheets have 10 vertical rows.

Thanks for the information!
I DO NOT think the stamp I pictured is a coil it's just what started my curiosity, after not finding much I figured I'd throw it out to get some insight! Google is sometimes a bad teacher :) and I bounce from one rabbit hole to another (like asking about printing methods for the type 1 :) keeps me learning and having fun
