Can anyone help me identify this Brazil stamp? I came across it recently in a box of material a friend gave me that was part of his mother's collection. It's been quite a treasure hunt going through the box. This one struck me because it has what appears to be a zeppelin on it. Now, I'm not going to presume that it's at the same level as the U.S. zeppelins, but I am intrigued that I might have found some of interest. Unfortunately, it's not on a full cover, despite all the other covers the lady had saved. Any thoughts?

I think what you have is a Brazil Scott 4CL5 - 10,000 on 2,000. My 2016 Classic catalogue gives the used stamp a catalogue value of $300.00. It is not my area, so I may be wrong.

Holy smokes. That's a pretty good find, and I better not tell my buddy. He'll want the whole box back. lol He gave me his late mother's collection a few years ago. A couple of Scott Big Blue albums, lots of FDCs, assorted other stuff. Nothing earth shattering. He texted me a few weeks ago, saying he had another box if I was interested. He found it the crawl space of his mom's house after he gave me the original box and kept meaning to get it to me. I've found quite a few neat things in this box so far. A few nice Canal Zone stamps on cover, some Farley gutter pairs, US Scott 750 and 751 souvenir sheets, a bunch of 5-stamp Transportation coil strips (only one had a plate number, unfortunately). I'm still digging through it all like an archeological dig. I found this stamp in a random envelope along with other stamps removed from the covers. The lady had saved a lot of covers, I wish she'd saved this one. I'm going to stat over, I think, and go through everything more closely. Who knows what else is in there!

If the lady in question worked in an office, she may have removed the stamp from an incoming cover. One of my grandmothers worked in the payment section of a company that received a large quantity of international mail. She gave me a slew of stamps from Taiwan that were mailed in the fifties.

wtcrowe: I'm pretty sure that's the case. There's a lot of material addressed to a local bank. But the good stuff, and I suspect this stamp as well, is address to the Jeep factory administration building that was here in my town for many years. That stuff is going to get a better look, more than the original glance I gave it. Much of that was addressed to a doctor. There's a lot of FDCs containing a letterhead. The letterhead describes the stamp on the cover, and then goes on to pitch a new drug for the doctor to consider. Each FDC pitches a different drug. Interesting approach.
