Anyone ever deal with this company/Frank Geiger? I placed an order through their website and sent an email inquiring about several others. A month later after two follow-up emails and three phone calls, nothing. They didn't even charge me for the order so thinking maybe someone passed away? Hope that's not the case but certainly unusual.

Geiger originally operated in Upper Saddle River, NJ. If this obituary is for his wife, then the elder Frank Geiger passed before 2010. So his son would be the presumed proprietor of the business. https://www.vanemburgh.com/obituary/1921663I recall corresponding with the senior Frank about a Bahamas stamp and would have sworn it was after 2010, but I can no longer find the email. Mystery deepens? |

Darn shame. Had some hard to find Belgian Congo postage dues. Pretty much full Scott, but was gladly willing to pay full freight for NH due to simply not seeing them anywhere else.
And yes Cal, Pinehurst, NC is where their website shows them. (Although might as well be Zimbabwe if they aren't in business.) |

I did not mean for my post to be "factual." Just something I found online which may provide more data. If true, this would be a classic example of a child inheriting a business for which they have no interest or passion. Are stamps hallucinogenics when smoked? |

Someone I know talked to Sr just a few weeks ago and there is a frankgeigersr on ebay. As I heard it, the transfer of the business to the son was not voluntary. I did notice that the Worldstamp website was not being updated like it used to be. He did indeed have some very hard to find modern items. |

I emailed an enquiry to "frankpgeigersr" and received this response:
Ed,
I have absolutely nothing to do with businesses operating under the names WorldStamps and/or Frank Geiger Philatelists. I have not had anything to do with those businesses since August 1, 2018.
My current business name is Frank P. Geiger Sr Stamps of the World. My phone number is *** Private information removed by Staff. Please do not post your address/email/phone number etc. ***. My business mailing address is:
Frank P. Geiger Sr
*** Private information removed by Staff. Please do not post your address/email/phone number etc. ***
I am an ASDA member for many, many years and APS member 55652 since 1968. You have written to my business email twice. Any emails or letters you have sent to any other email address or postal address in Pinehurst have not been received nor seen by me.
Your name is certainly familiar to me but I can't quite place it
Sincerely,
Frank Sr |

One more response from "Frank SR:"
I understand the confusion, Ed, and have done everything I can think of to distinguish myself, business name, etc. Is there anything I can try to assist you with?

This discussion thread is truly bizarre.
Many years ago patronized Frank Geiger's "brick and mortar" shop in northern Bergen County (NJ).
Am trying to recall if there was a second dealer located in close proximity.

It sounds like a legal event occurred on August 1, 2018, such as sale of the original WorldStamps business to a new principal who acquired the right to use the Frank Geiger name, and Sr. then started a new business with the name he specified in his response. It also sounds like something uncomfortable is associated with the August 2018 change, since he could have elaborated on the difference and didn't. |

I am virtually certain it is Frank's son but not sure of the nature of any "falling out." |
